WASTE MANAGEMENT

At Alba, responsible waste management is at the heart of our CSR approach. Aware of our environmental impact, we have put in place a rigorous waste management process that follows the logic: avoid - reduce - sort - recover. This integrated approach enables us not only to minimise our ecological footprint, but also to make an active contribution to preserving our planet for future generations.

Alba's waste management process

Avoid and reduce

The first step in our process is to avoid and reduce the production of waste at source. We encourage our employees to adopt environmentally responsible practices, such as using digital documents to reduce paper printing, reducing the use of single-use plastics and optimising materials in our production processes.

Sorting and recycling

Selective sorting is an essential component of our waste management policy. Sorting bins are provided throughout our premises to enable our employees to sort their waste efficiently. Paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and organic waste are separated in this way.

Once sorted, our waste is recycled using various processes. This recovery enables us to reduce the volume of waste sent to landfill and to participate in the circular economy.

Working with Recygo

To ensure optimum management of our waste, we have chosen to work with Recygo, a company specialising in waste recycling and recovery. Thanks to this partnership, we can ensure that our specific waste, such as paper, ink cartridges and cardboard cups, is processed efficiently and in an environmentally-friendly way.

Paper recycling

Recygo collects and recycles all our used paper. Once recovered, the paper is sorted, shredded and transformed into paper pulp. This pulp is then used to produce new paper, helping to preserve natural resources and reduce CO2 emissions linked to the production of new paper.

Treatment of ink cartridges

Used ink cartridges account for a small proportion of our office waste. Thanks to Recygo, these cartridges are collected, dismantled and sorted to recover reusable materials. The plastic and metal components are then recycled and reintegrated into the production of new cartridges or other products, reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill.

Recycling paper cups

The cardboard cups used on our premises are also collected by Recygo. Once collected, these cups are sorted and recycled to produce new materials, such as recycled paper or cardboard packaging. This process gives a second life to our cups while limiting our environmental impact.

By working with Recygo, we are ensuring that our waste is treated in a responsible and sustainable manner. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to the environment and illustrates our desire to make waste management a central pillar of our CSR policy.

At Alba, we firmly believe that every gesture counts. That's why we continue to improve our practices and raise awareness among our teams to make waste management and recycling a priority every day. Together, we can reduce our environmental impact and build a more sustainable future.
